Michael Bowen's Obituary
Michael Bowen, age 75, passed away on February 7, 2026, in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was born on August 26, 1950, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and lived a life marked by love, laughter, and genuine connection with others.
Michael was a man who truly loved people. He was outgoing and the kind of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them smiling. Those who knew him knew they were in the presence of an all-around good guy—generous with his time, his stories, and his heart. For 27 years, Michael shared his life with Paulette Solitario, building a partnership rooted in love, companionship, and mutual respect. In 2023, the two decided it was time to make it official, marrying in Miami, Oklahoma, a moment that reflected their deep bond and commitment to one another.
Michael found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved guns, fishing, grilling, sunrises and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog July. Nothing made him happier than hanging out with his grandkids, creating memories filled with laughter and love.
Michael spent 6 years in the Air Force Reserve in the early 70’s. Throughout his career in the telecommunications field he worked at Southwestern Bell, AT&T and Williams Communications. He was involved in many aspects of the communications world as a lineman, a phone technician and management.
He spent the last 8 years serving the City of Tulsa as a security guard. Michael will be remembered for his warm spirit, his easy laugh, and the way he made people feel welcome and valued. His presence filled a room, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Alta, sisters June and Alma and baby brother Bowen.
Michael is survived by his wife Paulette, son Shannon Bowen, son Sean Bowen and wife Dana, daughter Sheree Walker and husband Kevin, grandchildren Maddie, Audrey, Finley, Mollie, Samuel, along with nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
