Michael H. Champagne's Obituary
Michael Henry Champagne passed away on June 29, 2023 alongside his beloved wife Kimberly K. Champagne.
Mike was born on July 5, 1959 in Tulsa, OK. His parents were Katy Darlene and Andre J. Champagne. He grew up in Tulsa and was an accomplished hockey player, spending most of his childhood at the ice rink. After graduating from Memorial High School, he attended Oklahoma State University.
Mike met the love of his life, Kimberly Creech, while playing tennis. They married on July 22, 1989 in Oklahoma City, OK. In 1996, the couple started Champagne Metals together out of their living room and the company recently celebrated its 27th anniversary. Mike’s entrepreneurial spirit, honesty and tenacity were integral to the company’s success and growth. Anything Mike took time for, he addressed with passion and excelled. In addition to his larger than life personality, Mike’s quiet generosity touched the lives of many.
Of all the titles Mike held, his proudest were Dad to his two children and Papa to his four grandchildren. The last several years, he devoted most of his time to his grandchildren. Throughout his life, Mike enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, tennis and golf. He was also an avid outdoorsman, spending countless hours hunting and fishing.
Mike is preceded in death by his mother.
Mike is survived by his children, Brandon Champagne and wife Ashley, Brooke de Cárdenas and husband Christian; four grandchildren, Carter Champagne, Michael de Cárdenas, Owen de Cárdenas and Charlotte Champagne; father Andre J. Champagne; one brother, Andre R. Champagne and wife Charise; one sister, Cindy Champagne Taylor; nieces and nephews, Brittany Barbe, Blaine Taylor, Brigitte McAuliff, Bailey Champagne and Brandee Champagne.
Memorial services was held at Asbury Church, 6767 S. Mingo Road, Tulsa, OK at 11 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2023. Light reception to follow at the church.
