Michael William Donberger's Obituary
This obituary shares the life of Michael William Donberger (Bill), a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Michael William Donberger, 87, of Broken Arrow passed away May 20th, 2020. He was born December 25th, 1932 in Barling, Arkansas. He passed away peacefully in his home (the one place he loved the most) in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
He learned from a young age how important hard work and dedication is. He had many different jobs throughout his career to take care of his family. He could adapt to any environment and perform any skill that was asked of him. He had the brain of an engineer and could complete any task given to him.
He served in the Army from Feb 2, 1953 until Jan 26, 1955. He was so proud of his country and proudly flew his American flag outside his home.
He met the love of his life Frances Carpenter (Donberger), in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and they married on November 19th, 1960. Not a day went by where he didn’t put her first. He took care of her until his final days. A man who never cared much about himself, but loved caring for others and always put everyone else before himself. He was the most humble man and loved to help others in any capacity he could.
He was an incredible father and grandfather, who guided us to always love one another and to always be kind to one another. He was loved by anyone that came into contact with him.
Bill was a strong, resilient, proud, and good man who lived a wonderful 87 years. He will be forever loved and missed by many!
He is preceded in death by parents Irene Elizabeth (mother) and Michael Francis Donberger Jr. (dad) and Patricia (sister).
Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years Frances, children Kellie Brewer (Steve) and John Donberger (Lisa), and three grandchildren Brittany, Zach, and Stephanie.
The service we render to others is really the rent we pay for our room on this earth. It is obvious that man is himself a traveler; that the purpose of this world is not ‘to have and to hold’ but “to give and serve.”
