Michael Edward Varasse's Obituary
Michael Edward Varasse, born Sunday, November 24, 1963 in Clearwater, Florida to father, Pete Varasse & mother, Ellen Louise (Mooney) Briggs ; went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his loving family by his side. Michael has been the resident of the Tulsa area for the past five years; after relocating from Georgia where he settled down after serving his country honorably and proudly in the United States Army. Michael was very proud of his service to his country and had a big heart to help others and gave the greatest gift with the gift of life as a donor. Michael enjoyed many things in his free time such as playing golf, watching racing especially NASCAR so he could cheer on his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., traveling on road trips so he could see the scenery; deer hunting & fishing for bass & brim with his son and cheering on his favorite team the Boston Red Sox. But what Michael truly loved were the memories he shared with his family and friends that he loved so dearly; he will be deeply missed by everyone that had their lives touch by him. Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raymond & Natalye Mooney and paternal grandfather, James Varasse. Michael is survived by his loving son, Raymond Varasse & wife Sharon; his beloved girlfriend, Carol Benavides; his dear father, Pete Varasse & wife Sidonia; his loving mother, Ellen Briggs & husband Melvin; grandmother, Frances Varasse; his dearly loved sisters, Robin Haley & husband Matthew and Donna Sanchez & husband Bruce; his loving nieces & nephews, Lindsey Haley, Braden Sanchez, Mariah Penland & husband Chris, Bryan Sanchez, Justin Haley and Blake Sanchez and numerous other loving family members & friends. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Chapel.
