Mike Hill was a force to be reckoned with, and walked around with the self assurance that God gives a pit bull. I first met Mike in 2004 and he helped me become a Journeyman Electrician. We spent the better part of a year driving to and from Grand Lake wiring a lake house for Chip McElroy. After a week we came to the agreement that he would drive up and I would drive back. I say we reached an agreement, because I refused to get in the truck after the first few times of him falling asleep at the wheel! Sometimes I would cut a corner too fast and he would jerk awake yelling about my lack of skill. I told him to shut up and go back to sleep, which he would laugh and promptly do just that. Mike taught me so much about electricity, especially about scrapping wire. He would always take charge of the process and made sure that everyone got an equal share, no matter what. He was one of the first people I told when I got my license. He told me now nobody can take that away from you. I'm sorry that we missed his funeral. I would have loved to tell him one more time how much he meant to me and my family. Mike you did a lot of good in this world. I hope you found that pile of gold in the mountains.
