Michael L. Staton's Obituary
Michael L. Staton 'Mike', 54 years old was born December 29, 1955 to Clifford and Louise Staton. He remained their devoted son throughout their lives. Mike was the much loved younger brother of Rick Staton and Charlene Staton Brumley. Mike attended Lewis & Clark Middle School and Tulsa East Central High School. He was a welding inspector for many years in the Tulsa and surrounding communities. Mike Staton was a unique individual with a vast knowledge of many things. He liked cooking for his family and friends and he truly enjoyed building anything out of wood. He also loved the time he spent on his motorcycle, but as a talented musician Mike was at his happiest in life when playing one of his cherished guitars for family and friends. Though no one and no segment of society were safe from Mike's sense of humor, he was often a champion of the underprivileged and homeless. John 3:16 was his favorite charity and his family encourages donations in his memory. Mike was preceded in death by both parents and his brother. He is survived by his sister Charlene Staton Brumley and the two nieces he was so very proud of Natalie Staton and Jennifer Staton Phillips. For Beverly Staton, Mike always was and will be the love of her heart. For his son First Class Petty Officer Noah Aaron Lowe, Mike will always be the dad who taught him to live honorably and that 'Character Matters'. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 P.M., Saturday, May 1, 2010, in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. 252-2518.
