Michael James Turman's Obituary
Michael "Mike" Turman, 71 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed from this life on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mike was born on May 15, 1950 in Fowler, California to William Turman and Geneve Turman (Everett).
Mike is survived by his daughter Jamie Rich and husband Daniel of Porter, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Kylee Anderson and fiancé Robert Hunter of Owasso, Oklahoma, Brock Anderson of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Bryar Rich of Porter, Oklahoma; his great-grandchildren, Kaidence Hunter of Owasso and Huxleigh Hunter of Owasso; two siblings, Ron Turman of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Pamela Birch and husband Chris of Bixby, Oklahoma, many nieces and nephews, extended family and a multitude of friends. Michael is preceded in death by his father William Harold Turman, his mother Geneve Elizabeth Turman (Everett), and his sister Pat Clanton.
One of Mike's fond memories was graduating from Leilehua High School, Wahiawa, Hawaii in 1969. Coming from a musical family, he loved music and loved to sing, especially with the radio, at the top of his lungs. He was passionate about the Beach Boys and the old gospel music songs. Mike never met a stranger and he was truly a friend to all. He loved deeply, never held a grudge and loved to spend time with his family and friends. Summer evenings would find him at the neighbors' on their patio enjoying a cold drink and good company. He had a profound work ethic and gave 110% to everything he did. He enjoyed talking politics and never wavered on his beliefs and convictions which made conversation interesting at times, but he never held a grudge.
Most importantly, Mike loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was prepared to meet Him on January 26. He shared his faith boldly and no matter the circumstances in his life, would always say "God's got my back". Customers would hear, as they walked toward the door, "You be blessed". Mike was known to help customers who didn't have the means to help themselves. He trusted the Lord and never doubted that God would provide all his needs and he wanted to bless others as he had been blessed.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Life Church Broken Arrow South, 5801 South Elm Place , Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74011 with Interment to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens at Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
