Last December, dad and I had a guys trip to Las Vegas. We ate Italian food without worrying about triggering my mom’s tomato allergy, we spent a night talking about his childhood over a glass of whiskey and cigars, and ate a steak that was so delicious that he dreamed about it every night. It was more than I could ever ask for and a memory I will never forget and will carry me through these dark days. I miss you, old man. I love you.
Walcutt, was a wonderful man full of a dry sense of humor that always helped in tense situations, he was a wonderful MEA president and was just fun to talk to in the teacher lounge. He loved his wife, his family and his pups. He is a man who will be missed by many, but his legacy will live on through the lives he touched at school as well as his children and grand children. Every time I hear another one bites the dust I will smile and think of him.
