Mickey Westbrook's Obituary
Mickey Westbrook passed away in her home in Broken Arrow on October 8, 2022, four days short of her 92nd birthday.
Mickey was born in Scottsville, AR on Oct 12, 1930, to Tom and Zella Bewley. She grew up working in her father's small Arkansas grocery store and loved to bicycle, play basketball, and sing in the choir at high school.
Mickey raised two children who survive her, Pamela Pace (Les) and Stephen Pace (Vanessa) while working as an executive secretary for Sight and Sound and More Insulation in Tulsa. She led an active life working, as a mother to her children, and as a supportive wife to Bob Pace, who died in 1980. She continued her career and became active in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church often singing in the choir for years until she married Loy Westbrook in 1992. She then retired and traveled with Loy as he performed his pastoral duties within the Baptist Churches in Tulsa and Sapulpa. Pastor Loy Westbrook died in 2016.
"Mick" lived alone in their house in Broken Arrow for 6 years, with her little companion Winnie. She endured multiple physical challenges that she overcame with strength and perseverance and was actively shopping, cooking, talking with neighbors, and doting on family up until the final 8 weeks of her life. She was a member of Heritage Methodist Church in Broken Arrow. She was especially blessed to have the compassionate care of Seasons Hospice and Senior Helpers Home Health in the last few weeks of her life.
Mickey was predeceased by husbands Bob Pace and Loy Westbrook, parents Tom and Zella Bewley, brother Chester Bewley, sister Janie Bewley, her little dog Birdy, family and friends she has missed throughout the years.
In addition to her children and little Winnie, Mickey is survived by grandsons Naval Lieutenant Commander Adam Pace (Jennifer) and David Pace (Lottie) as well as great-granddaughters Ava and Lea Pace and great-grandsons Cole and Connor Pace, and countless family and friends, neighbors, and helpers.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM At Floral Haven Rose Chapel. Family has requested donations be made in Mickey Westbrook's name to Seasons Hospice.
