Mildred Inez Garrigus' Obituary
Mildred Inez Garrigus 1925 ~ 2012 On July 2, 2012, Mildred Inez Garrigus went to meet her Lord and Savior and rejoin her beloved husband Fred. Mildred was born on May 25, 1925, to Edna and T.B. Davis in Hector, AR. She was the elder of two children: Mildred Inez Davis and William Larkin Davis. Mildred graduated from Hector High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She met the love of her life, Fred Bewley Garrigus, in high school, and they married in 1941 and had three children together. Mildred and Fred celebrated sixty-six years of marriage before Fred's death in 2008. Mildred worked as an administrative secretary at American Red Cross before retirement. Mildred loved her family and her home with all of her heart. There was no limit as to how far she would go to help her children and grandchildren, and her family returned that love. Mildred and Fred had a second home in Hector, AR that they loved implicitly. They traveled to Hector regularly and enjoyed visiting family there and returning to their birthplace. Mildred leaves a legacy that can't be matched. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and we will miss her terribly. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Fred; Parents, T.B. and Edna Davis; her brother, Bill Davis; and her grandson, Brian Becton. She is survived by her children: Carolyn Becton (O.M.), Terry Garrigus (Sharon); and Patti Myres (Frank); grandchildren: Bret Becton (Melanie); Kristina Hinesley; Brandon Myres; and Matthew Myres; eight great-grandchildren: Brooks Becton; Robert Lee Becton; Blake Becton; Gabrielle Spencer; Garrett Hinesley; Brayden Hinesley; Caleb Hinesley; and Carter Myres. Our hearts are heavy at the loss of our mother and grandmother, but she is free of pain and in the arms of Jesus forever.
