Miles Wesley Judkins' Obituary
Miles Wesley Judkins was born November 15, 1938, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia Ann Judkins, his parents Paul Clayton Sr. and Iva Judkins, and his siblings Joella Masoner and Paul Clayton Judkins Jr.
Miles passed peacefully on August 19, 2024, at 85 years of age. He is survived by his two daughters
Ann Judkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joi Henry and her husband Jason of Midland, Texas, his grandson William Miles Judkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma, his sisters Karen Cook of Edmond, Oklahoma and Edna Turman, of Spencer, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews.
He often said he was a jack of all trades, but a master of none, which was not true. He was always the go-to problem solver and in our eyes could fix anything. If Miles built it, it was not coming down. A friend once remarked "Miles built this, it will be difficult to take down" regarding a chicken coop he had built with the help of his grandson.
Upon graduating High School, Miles joined the Army at 1 7 years of age and was in the Armed Forces/Reserves from 1955 to 1963. While stationed in Tokio, Japan, he made several lifelong friends that he remained in contact with over the years. He often joked telling people that those were the best years of his life, but we all knew marrying his wife, raising his family, and having a grandson were his favorite years. Upon returning to the States, he moved back to his hometown, Spencer, Oklahoma where he worked at the town bank.
In 1967 he fell in love at first sight with a tall blonde, Pat, on the dance floor. After one month of dating, they just knew it was meant to be and on September 23 of the same year they said " l do". Miles stayed in the banking business and moved his young family to Davis, Oklahoma, where he made his career at the First National Bank. Miles and Pat raised their daughters in the Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, playing cards, and camping on the Washita River with his friends and family.
When both of his daughters graduated high school and moved off to college, the empty nesters decided to turn their home into a Bed & Breakfast. Their success in the business was once featured in an episode of Discover Oklahoma.
After Ann and Joi moved to Tulsa, they decided to close up shop and move there as well. Not long after, Ann had her son Will, and both Miles and Pat fell instantly in love. Both cherished grandparents and helping take care of him gave them a new meaning of love.
The three words to best describe Miles are integrity, strength, and kindness.
We find comfort in knowing that they are together in love again.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 12:30 PM, Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
