Milton Homer Tibbs' Obituary
Milton Homer Tibbs was born in Mena, Az. on August 2, 1931, to Edward and Alberta Tibbs. Shortly after, his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Homer later graduated from Central High School. Upon graduating, Homer joined the Army in 1952, serving in the 65th AAA Gun Battallion. He was honorably discharged in 1954. Homer married the love of his life, Sue Tibbs, in August of 1954. They had two daughters, Debra Sue and Kelli Ann. Homer ran the Texaco in North Tulsa for several years until deciding to move his family to South Tulsa in 1972. Homer continued providing for his family as a service writer, working for several major car dealerships in Tulsa. Homer loved bowling and bowled on a local bowling league for over thirty years. During that time, Homer also served as a member of the Bowling League’s Board of Directors. To his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Homer was known as “Papa with magic hands”, as he was able to fix anything! He loved working with his hands whether it be on cars, doing carpentry work, or planting and tending to his vegetable garden. He was a kind, loving Christian man of great faith who adored his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was loved by all that knew him and will be truly missed. Homer was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Representative Sue Tibbs, his two son-in-laws, Calvin Wiest and Billy Jack Dodd, and his sister, Rosemary Allen. He was survived by his daughters, Debra Sue Wiest of Tulsa, and Kelli Ann Dodd of Bartlesville, his grandchildren, Nikki, Aubrey, and Austin Moody, Missouri Dodd, his great grandchildren Karson Francis and Kelley Danner, Evan Ray Jenkins, Arianne Michele Hinkle, and Kingslee Anne Hainline. Memorial contributions may be made to the Free In Christ Ministry or American Cancer Society.
