Mitzi Rake's Obituary
Mitzi Mildred Rake, 86, was born on November 30, 1931 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed away on November 12, 2018.After graduating high school, Mitzi entered the workforce as a bookkeeper, serving Nelson Electric, McKinley Investments, and Sears throughout her career.Outside of work, Mitzi absolutely adored her family. She was married to her loving husband Jimmy Rake for 65 years. She was a great mom and could always be counted on to help in a time of need. Family was always her top interest, but she also enjoyed shopping, traveling, and working on crossword puzzles.Mitzi is preceded in death by her husband James “Jimmy” Rake; brother Bill Ledford; and parents Mit and Minnie Ledford.She is survived by her son Don and wife Misti Rake of Coweta, Oklahoma; daughter Janell and husband Mike Winkle of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; son Charlie and wife Beverly Rake of Skiatook, Oklahoma; three sisters Anna Sharon, Wilhe Beard, and Nell Lomax; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15 from 4 pm – 7 pm.Services will be held in Mitzi’s honor at 3 pm on Friday, November 16 at Floral Haven Chapel.
