M.J. Foley's Obituary
M. J. FOLEY, 81, of Tulsa, passed from this life on June 27, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. M.J. was born in Danville, Arkansas to Ethel Mae Moudy and Clifford Benedict 'Jack' Foley on September 21, 1931. He attended Danville High School where he graduated in 1949. His athletic speed earned him the affectionate title of 'The Danville Flash'. M.J. married Jo Ann 'Jodie' Foley on August 10, 1956, and they were happily married for 56 years. Upon moving to Oklahoma, he worked as a Manager in General Services for Warren Petroleum/Chevron Oil for 32 ½ years. He attended Woodland Acres Baptist Church. M.J. was active and athletic and had a passion for fishing, camping, tennis and maintaining his yard as the envy of the neighborhood. He had a tremendous sense of humor and a wealth of friends who knew him as a very genuine, good man. M.J.'s greatest passion was loving and spending time with his family. M.J. Foley is preceded in death by his parents Ethel Mae Moudy and Clifford Benedict 'Jack' Foley, sister Estelene Banks and brothers Cliff Foley and Jack Foley. M.J. Foley is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jodie Foley of Tulsa, daughter Debi Foster of Claremore, son Dave Foley of Tulsa, daughter Pam Foley of Broken Arrow, brother Carl Foley of Bixby, grandsons Chris Conner of Ft. Worth, and Dr. Clint Conner, PhD, of Claremore, granddaughters Jennifer Varner of Tampa, Taylor Foley of Tulsa and Darby Foley of Tulsa, great-grandson Jacob Conner of Sperry, great-granddaughter Andi Conner of Sperry, nephews Craig Foley of Broken Arrow, Mike Foley of Grass Valley, CA, Randy Banks of Edmond, OK and Jerry Foley of Tulsa, and niece Patti Stewart of Houston. M.J.'s Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Floral Haven, 6420 S. 129th E. Ave, Broken Arrow, OK on July 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Kriss Haymes of Woodland Acres Baptist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, TX 75284-1125. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to M.J.'s many friends who made his life rich and full, including his friends from Chick-fil-a and caregivers from St. Francis Hospice. Dad found peace in surrendering his heart to his Lord and Savior, whom he now worships in eternity in his heavenly home. He has gone ahead to 'learn the ropes' for his family where the family circle will remain forever unbroken.
