I was never sure what to expect when visiting with Monroe, but, it was sure to be a good time had by all.
One day he and his bestus sidekick Marion Mark Wortham showed up in my front yard with a gift of a Cottonwood tree of great size for me to plant. They had been to a Tahlequah nursery and thought of me. They said " this tree will be cottonless". It was not!! Another vist by the dynamic duo brought Blackberry Roots, which they planted along my back yard fence with the promise that the plants would be thornless, which they were, and the berries would be seedless" who would have thunk it?? There is no such thing. The plants thrived and produced good crops of very large berries. I moved some of the roots of those plant from Broken Arrow to Heber Springs AR. They have produced bumper crops and have blessed us and many neighbors for the past eleven years.
I will miss him and his antics and look forward to joining him in heaven. I'm expecting great joy and much laughter and of course more of the dynamic duos' antics.
We loved him very much and will miss him terribly.
Ron & Lee Ann, Don & Margo and families, you have our prayers and sympathy.
