Myrna Kay Hayden's Obituary
Myrna Kay Hayden, the beloved daughter of Cornelius and Gayle Renner, was born on January 27, 1943, in Kenmare, North Dakota. She peacefully departed from this world on August 30, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Myrna's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and the simple joys of life.
In December of 1951, Myrna's family relocated to a farm in Minnesota, where she spent her formative years. Her fond memories of childhood were filled with the comforting warmth of her mother's kitchen, where she discovered her lifelong passion for cooking and baking. Myrna's culinary skills would later become a cherished gift she shared with her loved ones.
Myrna graduated from Dassel High School in Dassel, Minnesota, in May of 1961. After her graduation, she embarked on a journey of hard work and dedication. She joined the 3M plant in Hutchinson, Minnesota, where she exhibited her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. In 1972, Myrna married the love of her life, Jim Hayden, and together, they welcomed a beautiful daughter into their lives. The family soon relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Myrna continued her dedicated work. She contributed her talents at Bama Pie for a number of years and later spent an admirable 22 years at St. Francis Hospital, serving in the laundry department.
Beyond her work, Myrna found solace and joy in simple pleasures. She delighted in watching Elvis movies and documentaries, immersing herself in reading, challenging her mind with jigsaw puzzles, and engaging in the pursuit of word searches. But it was in the kitchen where Myrna truly shone. Her culinary creations, including her famous pumpkin pie and lemon meringue pies, were a source of delight for her family and friends. Whenever a baked treat was needed, Myrna was the person to turn to.
In her later years, Myrna's greatest joy was found in spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She embraced the role of being a grandmother with immense love and dedication, leaving a lasting legacy of warmth and affection.
Myrna Kay Harden's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and the simple pleasures of life. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her delicious baked goods, and her unwavering dedication to those she held dear. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing her. Myrna will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
Myrna is survived by her cherished daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Ray Abbeduto; her loving sister, Shirley Nelson; her brothers, Frank Renner and Jess Renner; and her adoring grandchildren, Faith, Isaiah, and Joshua Abbeduto. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Myrna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Hayden; her devoted parents, Cornelius, and Gayle Renner; her grandson, Jeremiah Abbeduto; her nephew, Chad Renner; and her dear brother, Charlie Renner.
