Mr. Peace always accepted me and held me in very high esteem, even when I didn't deserve it. I will always be grateful to him for that, and when I see him again I will tell him myself. Hunk taught me how to play golf while playing in a golf tournament. He had such patience. He began my love for the game of golf. All those years at Williams were made brighter by Hunk's smile and words of encouragement. Since leaving Williams I have often thought about him and hoped he was enjoying life to the fullest because he brought joy into the lives of anyone who knew him. My heart felt sympathy goes out to his family.
Coach, I've thought of you often this past year, and promised that I would call or stop by to visit. Unfortunately, I did neither, and am very sorry for that. As a member of one of your ORU golf teams (1969-1973), followed by a few years of employment at ORU and OREA, I have a bucket full of memories of our great times together. Iâ??ve always appreciated your honest, straightforward, and â??excitableâ? nature; never to forget the time you allowed Clancy to borrow your car (with a standard shift), only to watch him crash it into your garage door while attempting to back out of the driveway. ?? Lit a candle in memory of Myron Henry Peace
Myron, was my first cousin. When he was twelve years old I was eight. We were so close. I made him laugh because I would out run him across a plod field. His family raised watermelons, our favorite, black diamonds, the best watermelons of all. Myron loved them too. We loved each other too. He taught me how to swim, play baseball & shoot hoops. He had such patience with me, always encouraging me. I shall miss him forever. But I will remember his laughter & his kind voice always. I will remember our good times. I love you cousin.
