Naleta Arietta White Looney After 90-years of vibrant life, Naleta Arietta White Looney went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, December 12, 2010. Naleta was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 18, 1920. After living in Tulsa the majority of her life, she spent her final months in Houston, Texas. Naleta was deeply devoted to her family. She was the oldest of five children, and she especially treasured her relationship with her sisters. She was a loving mother to four children. She was beloved Mamaw to 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. By love, grace, generosity, humor, courage and strength, Naleta was, without doubt, the matriarch of her family ' her legacy, currently represented by these thirty-one children and grandchildren will live on for countless generations. Naleta is survived by her children: Sandra Looney Burnett-Walls of Houston, Carol Sue Looney Holsey of Jenks, Oklahoma, Janice Looney Chronister-L'Hommedieu of Bixby, Oklahoma, and William Mark Looney of Tenaha, Texas; by her 13 grandchildren (ages 43 to 21) and her great-grandchildren (ages 11 years to 5 months); and by her sisters: Irene Daily of Tulsa and Ruelta Wright of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Naleta is preceded in death by her parents, Iva and Jewel White, by her brothers, Orman and Jorman White and by her husband, William Looney. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Naleta's honor to The Beacon in Houston, Texas. 1117 Texas Avenue, Houston, TX 77002 (www.BEACONhomeless.org). Funeral services for Naleta Looney will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Graveside service will follow immediately after. A viewing opportunity will be provided on Thursday, December 16, 2010, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
