My beloved Nancy has gone home to be with the Lord. I was with her when she died, we were at home, and she felt no pain.

Nancy had suffered from many pains and ailments all her life, and though most of you never knew it, she seldom had a day without discomfort. She had often remarked to me, and to a few others, that one day she would wake up in the presence of Jesus and all that pain would be gone forever. For her, that day has now come.

Thank you all, every one, for the love you have shown us all our lives together. I will say for Nancy and me, that love endures forever; that love is as strong as the grave, and never ends with death. Just like the Lord's love for us all. Nancy still loves each one of you just as fully now as ever, and she always will; and in the same way, my love for her will never diminish. Why should death be more powerful than that? We will all meet again on the other side, all tears will be wiped away, and sorrows will be remembered no more.

My husband Paul and I met Nancy during the time he worked for Harrison House way back in 1994, I believe. For almost as long as I have lived in Tulsa, Nancy has been a part of my life. Living in this Buckle of the Bible Belt, it was nice to have a friend that had similar sensibilities to mine. She came from an Italian-American background, and she came from a big city, Chicago, like I did, New York. So we had a lot in common.

We also had fine arts and musical backgrounds.
What I loved about her was her appreciation for all things beautiful! We would go visit a flower garden, or a museum, or a concert together, which was really nice because not everyone likes to do that stuff. A few years back, we worked on several Bible Studies together, she doing the graphics and me doing the editing. We were a great team together and we always had a lot of fun doing the work.

She was also a great Aunt to my two girls. She was always there for graduations and special events; I could always count on her being there. And she was alwayd an encourager, always looking for the best in others. I know she always saw the best in me, even if she was in a bit of a rough spot herself.

There’s so much more I could say. I am blessed to have called her my friend. She made life in Tulsa so much better. I look forward to seeing her again, and I know that right now she is dancing with and worshipping Jesus in Heaven, the thing she wanted to do more than anything else on this earth. I do miss her but I am so happy that her most fervent prayer has been answered! Love you, Nan!

Nancy was a very special person. I worked with her at Harrison House Publishers in the art department. She loved being Italian, illustrating children’s books, music and loving Jesus. She was funny, headstrong and independent when I knew her. I had lost contact with her before she met Loren, but I do know that she knew God had someone special for her and was waiting expectantly. I am glad she lived her life happily and she is rejoicing with the heavenly choir and seeing her mom. I send my condolences to Loren and her family and know we will see her again, probably right in the middle of the Italian renaissance painters coloring Heaven.
