Nancy Jean Gaddis' Obituary
Nancy Jean Peterschmidt GaddisNancy Gaddis, a longtime resident of Tulsa, passed away at home on November 24 at the age of 93. Nancy, the second daughter of George and Florence Peterschmidt, was raised in the Catholic faith in El Dorado, Kansas, during the Great Depression. She attended Kansas State University where she enjoyed being a member of Chi Omega sorority. She remained a K. State football fan all her life. She became a physical therapist after college; her career took her to the hospital in Chicago where she met a handsome young intern, Dr. John Gaddis. She became his lovely bride in 1949. Together they had five children. Nancy spent her middle years as a busy housewife and loving mom. She was an excellent golfer and formed enduring friendships with her golfing buddies. Nancy was the proud grandmother of 14, and great grandmother of 7 (and counting!). She was pre-deceased by her husband John and sister Irene. Highlights of her recent life included trips to Sonoma, Carmel, and Napa, California, and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Nancy’s small-town upbringing gave her lifelong values of honesty, loyalty and duty to others. This strong moral core was combined with unfailing love and devotion to her family and friends. She was greatly loved and admired by all of us who were lucky enough to know her. A private memorial service will be held.
