Nancy Jane Petty's Obituary
Nancy Jane Petty has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior. Nancy, 83, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on October, 16, 2020 at Clarehouse surrounded by her family. She was born on November 6, 1936 in Tulsa to Emery James Queen and Rose Marie (Brown) Queen. She is survived by her husband, of 67 years, George; two daughters, Rebecca Gibson, and Deborah Straughan (Jimmy); three grandchildren, Rachel Rogers (Bruce), Ashley Brim (Jeremy) and Bryan Gibson (Caitlin) and seven great grandchildren, Tim, Lane, Ryan, Adison, Braxton, Britton and Forrest and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Rose Marie Queen; her three sisters, Vera Blair, Alma Stith and Rose Beattie and her son-in-law Robert Gibson.
Nancy was an accomplished musician. She played numerous instruments, sang in the Tulsa University Modern Choir and was an active member of the Tulsa Chapter, American Guild of Organists. She served as organist throughout her life for several churches in Tulsa. She enjoyed quilting, reading, travelling with her husband (they loved France) and with her daughters. She loved football, most especially rooting for her OU Boomer Sooners and her Green Bay Packers.
Nancy blessed all who were a part of her life. Her glass was not half full… her glass was always overflowing. While we shall miss her deeply, we are comforted knowing she is rejoicing in heaven in the presence of our Lord.
