Nancy Anne Reeves' Obituary
Nancy Anne Reeves, age 85, of Tulsa passed away on Sunday, June 12, surrounded by family.
Nancy was born on January 14, 1937 to Shelby and Lenora Oakley. She married Vernon Reeves on September 3, 1960 in Tulsa, OK.
Nancy is survived by Bob and Nicole Taft, son and spouse; Kayleen Reeves, daughter-in-law; Greg Reeves and Geoff VanNostrand, son and spouse; Shelly and Tim Polakow, daughter and spouse; Crystal and Manfred Jeske, granddaughter and spouse; Sarah Polakow, granddaughter; Andrea Polakow, granddaughter; Nick Reeves, grandson; Callan Jeske, great-grandson; Jackson Jeske, great-grandson; Shirley Bruce, sister; Liz Barber, sister; Carol and David Mays, sister and spouse; Shelby and Pam Oakley, brother and spouse; Mike and Tracey Oakley, brother and spouse; Joe and Maxine Reeves, brother-in-law and spouse; and, of course, her dog Bobo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Buck Reeves; and her grandson, Brandon Reeves.
For many years she was a secretary for Knight Wilkerson, then for her son at All Star Lawn Specialists. Over the years she volunteered for several churches and ministries, but beyond that, she was a devoted follower of Christ and prayer warrior. She created and ran a Christian lending library, Feed My Sheep, for over twenty years in order to spread God’s love to those that needed it most.
Nancy enjoyed cooking with her granddaughters, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, expanding her lending library, collecting new Iris varieties to plant in her garden, playing bridge on the computer, and hosting family holidays. She lived at Grace Living Center for her final eight years, where she loved reading to the littles at their school, attending worship and devotional services, and playing bingo with the other residents. She and her dog Bobo were beloved by any who came in contact with her.
She poured all of her love into her family, and until the end, she reminded them how much she loved them. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and close friends will gather on Friday, June 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the Floral Haven Chapel (6500 S 129th E Ave) to celebrate her life.
