Nancy Sue (Saling) SchorfheideMrs. Nancy Schorfheide spread her wings and flew to heaven on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019 at 5:20 PM at Franciscan Villa at the age of 74 after an extended illness.She was born in Belleville, Illinois, on July 13, 1944, the first of 2 daughters of Charles and Ellen (Wainwright) Saling. She was a 1963 graduate of Belleville Township High School, and married Robert Alan “Bob” Schorfheide on November 29, 1969 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Belleville. She and Bob are the parents of one son, Carl Edward.Nancy worked for the Broken Arrow Public Schools in the Child Nutrition Department. She was an avid collector of owls and sunflowers, enjoyed cooking and decorating her home for every holiday. As one family friend stated when hearing of Nancy’s passing, “She was the only woman I ever met who could out bake and out decorate me.” She loved traveling with her husband in their travel trailer visiting wide-spread family and friends, attending races, naval reunions and hosting/assisting at Forest River Owner’s Group (FROG) RV rallies. Nancy always had a smile and a kind word for everyone, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, Ralph and Ruth (Morris) Schorfheide, brother-in-law, John Schorfheide and nephew, Joseph Erwin.She is survived by her husband, Bob and son Carl, sister Mary Lou (Randy) Hepp, brother-in-law, Paul (Janet) Schorfheide, and 5 sisters-in-law, Jean Schorfheide, Peg Schorfheide, Gail (Joel) Docter, Sarah (Matthew) Erwin, and Laura (Manuel) Lara, 16 nieces and nephews, 16 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew.Bob and Carl will receive visitors on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 3 to 6 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 South 129th East Avenue in Broken Arrow, OK 74012. Interment of ashes will be at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, MO 63125In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations may be made to St. Francis Hospice, 6600 South Yale Avenue, Suite 350, Tulsa, OK 74136.
