Nannie Lee Gorman's Obituary
Nannie Lee Gorman, 95, was born in Van Horn, Texas on October 5, 1926. The youngest of four children born to Drew and Ellen Daugherty Kitchens . Raised on Crow Flat in southern New Mexico on a cattle ranch. Married to Albert Gorman on July 7, 1946 in Van Horn, Texas. Resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1952 until 1986. In 1986 they retired and built a home on Lake Tenkiller. In Tahlequah, Oklahoma. There she was active in the Cookson Methodist Church and the Cookson Mission for Native American children She would like to be remembered as a worker with children. Taught pre school from 1954 until 1997. Taught preschool for 12 years at University Methodist church. Was instrumental in creating the existing pre school program at the church. Volunteered in many childrens work from Camp Fire leader to school PTA. Later in life she became an amateur photographer with pictures published in state and local publications. Many of those pictures earning her awards and newspaper interviews.
She was also active in the Tenkiller Lake Association (TACO). Organizing many fundraising Events. Preceded in death by Husband Albert Carroll Gorman, One sister and two brothers, Granddaughter Emily Gayle Smith
Son- in-law Dennis V Arnold.
Survived by Daughters, Carol Arnold, Kay Smith and husband Bruce Smith.
Grandchildren Allison Kettlety and husband Bradley, Melanie Smith, Matthew Schultz and wife Macarena, and great grandchildren, Finnley Albert, Elliott Robert and Sonny Matthew Kettlety.
Services will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Floral Haven Chapel.
