Jean Bickel's Obituary
Naomi Jean Bickel (Allen), 84, passed peacefully from this earth to her heavenly home, Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.She was born July 21, 1935 to Lewis Marion and Esther Earlabaugh in Sparks, Oklahoma, the youngest of two daughters.Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 26 years, Otho L.C. Allen; her sister Dorothy Bickel; and her late husband of 3 years, Louis Bickel.She was a faithful member of Eastland Assembly of God, where she served for 31 dedicated years as secretary. Eastland was a place she loved and cherished. She enjoyed the many genuine friendships and connections she made throughout the years, and was always willing to help her brothers and sisters in Christ. She had a true servant’s heart, and it showed in the warmth of her smile, and her selflessness and generosity toward all.Jean was a devoted mother to her three children Alan Allen (Donna) of Pearland, TX, Marcia Bruce (Randy) of Tulsa, OK, and Jeanna Newton of Tulsa, OK. She loved to be with her family, and throughout the years, you could regularly find everyone gathered around her dinner table. She was the gentle leader and heart of her home.She was a loving Nanny to Lyndsay Harris (Brandon), Lauren Attaway (Kurt), Kalen Bruce (Sarah), Eric Bruce (Brandy), and Brittany Murillo (Jesus), and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.Nanny also had the delight of loving 14 wonderful great grandchildren:Sawyer, Eli, Madison, Canten, Emersen, Jaden, McKinley, Beckett, Pierce, Kohen, Kennedy, Micaela, Camila, and another great grandbaby she had the joy of knowing is on the way.Jean was strong and independent, showing perseverance and grace in the face of life’s hardships. She was an example to many in the ways that she generously loved, served, and lived with gratitude.Though we grieve her loss here on earth, we do grieve with the hope of seeing her again in our promised home, heaven. Jean lived her life clinging to Jesus and we rejoice that she is with Him now, face to face.The funeral and graveside services will be held Monday, March 30, 2020 at 12:30pm for immediate family members only.
