Naomi Ruth Chasteen's Obituary
Naomi Ruth Jackson Chasteen, 86, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma departed this life on June 22, 2018 surrounded by her family and friends.Naomi was born on January 10, 1932 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Marshall and Inez Jackson. Naomi lived in Drumright until she was nearly 11 years of age, then moved to Tulsa where she attended public schools, graduating from Tulsa Central High School. She went on to earn her LPN license and was one of the first employees of St. Francis Hospital, working there for 33 years as a labor and delivery nurse. She was an accomplished genealogist, authoring several books on her family history, as well as an avid quilter and whittler.Naomi was a member of Garnett Assembly of God Church for 75 years.Naomi married Carl E. Chasteen on December 1st, 1950. The couple had three children, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Inez Jackson, husband Carl E. Chasteen, son Douglas L. Chasteen, sister Effie Christine Perryman, and brother Marshall M. Jackson.She is survived by daughter Rebecca L. Chasteen Howeth and son-in-law Dee Wayne Howeth of Broken Arrow, son Michael S. Chasteen and daughter-in-law Mary Jane Chasteen of Broken Arrow, grandchildren Nathan Douglas and wife Rheanette Chasteen, Jennifer Sarah Earle, Stephen and wife Karen Simms, Jeremy and wife Nikki Howeth, Cynthia Chasteen, Christina Chasteen, and by great grandchildren Cameron Thompson, Riley Chasteen, Bailey Chasteen, Remington Blanco, Jayden Earle, Juliana Earle, Stephen Jase Simms, and Zachary Douglas Chasteen. Naomi is also survived by brother Calvin E. and wife Sylvia Jackson of Chouteau, sister Katherine I. Magrini of Tulsa, and brother Phillip N. and wife Shirley Jackson of Tulsa.Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 26th, Floral Haven Funeral Home.Funeral Service will be held at Garnett Assembly of God Church in Tulsa on Wednesday, June 27th at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Floral Haven.
