Ned Frederick Albert's Obituary
Ned Frederick Albert, age 88, died on May 23, 2011. Mr Albert died at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma from complications associated with a blood disorder. Ned Albert was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1922 and was the son of John and Sadie Albert. He had two brothers, Ralph and Raymond, and three sisters, Helen, Blanche, and Frances. Ned graduated from Elk City High School in 1939 before attending King’s Business College. Following business school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii during WWII. He met his wife Wilma in Sayre, Oklahoma and was married in 1948. Ned and Wilma Albert have two sons, Stephen Albert, Michael Albert, daughter-in-law Lu-Anne Albert, and three grandchildren, Sean Albert, Matthew Albert, and Rachel Albert. Ned began working in the family business, Albert Brothers Wholesale Candy & Tobacco, with his father and two brothers in Elk City, Oklahoma. Following the family business, Ned became a distributor for Anheuser-Busch in Clinton, Oklahoma. He subsequently acquired and successfully managed a restaurant franchise, Sonic Drive-In, located in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Before retiring, Ned partnered with his brother Raymond and co-managed the Circle-A Western Wear business in Elk City, Oklahoma. Ned always enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He held a special place in his heart for those in need. He frequently provided assistance to individuals or families who were going through difficult times. Ned is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him well. Visitation will Be held on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 on Monday evening. The funeral service will be held in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 10:00 A.M.
