Nell Dean Pool's Obituary
Nell was born on May 21, 1926 in Monroe, Oklahoma to Dr. Jonathan and Nellie Dorrough. After graduating from Monroe High School she attended Southeastern State University where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education, with a major in home economics and a minor in music. She met and married her husband, Delbert Pool, during college and eventually moved to Tulsa. For the majority of her career, she loved working as a kindergarten teacher at Robert Fulton Elementary School in Tulsa. As a teenager Nell enjoyed working a summer job with her high school classmates at the Tulsa Bomber Plant during WWII. As she grew older, she enjoyed shopping, making homemade ice cream, cross-stitch, reading magazines, collecting turtle figurines, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Her vacations and spare time were spent at the lake with her family. This was her second home and a place of peace for her. Nell and her husband Delbert loved spending time together traveling west in their motorhome. Every time she parted with her family she mentioned her love by saying “love you a bushel and a peck”. Nell had a soft gentle spirit and lived 90 beautiful years. She was a devoted and caring wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister. Nell is survived by her son and daughter in law, Keith and Elizabeth Pool, granddaughter Lindsey and her husband Nathaniel and grandson Cameron and his wife Callie. The viewing will be held at Floral Haven on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 3pm-8pm. A celebration of life service will be held at Asbury United Method- ist Church on Monday, December 19, 2016, 2pm.
