Dean, Nelson L., 85, was born July 30, 1924, in Pratt, Kansas to Leslie and Minnie Dean. Retired Professional Engineer with Southwestern Power Administration. Navy Veteran of WWII and Korea serving aboard the USS Bremerton and the USS Princeton. Amateur Radio Operator – W5WTL. For the last 42 years he was known as the Dean of Cherry Street, where he loved his work and the friendships he made. He held many offices in the USS Princeton Association including President. Dad went to be with our Heavenly Father, November 1, 2009. He is survived by wife, Bernice; brother, Jackson (Vivian); sons, Michael, Tommy (Leslie); daughters, Mary (x2), Patti (Greg), and Deb (Clint). He is also survived by grandchildren, Lance, Harmony, Miranda, Logan, Nelson, Justin, Kindle, and great granddaughter Kailey, nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Buddy. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Aid of Tulsa or USS Princeton Scholarship Fund. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009, 3:00 p.m., Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
