Neoma P. Tiner's Obituary
Neoma P. Tiner, 82, died of alzheimers on February 13, 2018, in Tulsa, OK. Neoma is survived by her daughters, Denise Stacy and her husband, Jon Stacy, of Tulsa; her daughter, Katrina Tiner, of Flower Mound, Tx; her grandchildren, Cheyenne Sorrell and her husband Jerry Sorrell, of Broken Arrow, Ok; James Stacy of Phoenix, AZ; her greatgrandchildren, Tayla Norris and her husband Braden Norris, of Broken Arrow; Taylor Sorrell, Raleigh Sorrell, Jonna Sorrell and Quinn Sorrell, of Broken Arrow, and countless friends she would consider her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 13 years, Darrell Tiner, her father and mother, William and Nancy Potts, her brothers, Jack Potts, Vernon Potts, Billy Jim Potts and her sisters, Pearl Cline and Leona Fletcher.Neoma was born on July 8, 1935, in Barry County, MO. She graduated from Washburn High School in Missouri. Soon after, she moved to Tulsa to follow her dream of working in business. She attended Draughon’s Business School before starting her career at Texaco as a secretary, where she was very happy. She loved going downtown every day and working with the girls in the Philtower Building. To support her two girls after losing her husband, she went to work in the insurance business. Her biggest career accomplishment was starting her own company, Sooner Realtors.Neoma was a social force to be reckoned with. She loved to have fun and if she couldn’t find it, she would create it herself. She loved softball and hoped that she would be able to play again in Heaven with her new body. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends, bowling, swimming and she was a ruthless Scrabble player.Neoma was a faithful servant of God and lived every minute of her life with the goal of going to Heaven and taking as many people with her as she could by teaching them God’s word, one on one. Funeral Service to be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Crosstown Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, OK.
