Nettie Murlene Davidson
March 13, 1944, to May 18, 2026
Nettie Murlene Davidson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, affectionately known as “Mickie,” passed away peacefully surrounded by her adoring family on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Murlene was the youngest of three siblings born on March 13,1944, in Tulsa to Murle Harry Burruss and Marguerite Ethel Cameron Burruss. She spent her formative years in Tulsa graduating from Tulsa Central High School in 1962. While in high school, Murlene played the violin in the school’s orchestra and worked in her grandparents’ business. She also took many courses at Tulsa Community College with interests in the fields of nursing, political science, and paralegal.
Murlene had a strong Christian faith and was an active member of Tulsa’s Immanuel Baptist Church. It was at Immanuel that she met the love of her life and husband of 60 years, Richard “Dick” Davidson. The couple were married in the church’s original sanctuary on June 3, 1966. Richard and Murlene are the proud parents of two daughters, Dianna Michelle and Pamela Lynn. They are also the proud grandparents of Henry, Charlie, and Katie Wagner. Murlene’s other “child” was her beloved miniature schnauzer, Felix, who she often referred to as “my Pookie.”
For several years Murlene worked in real estate but cherished her title as a mother and homemaker the most. She also enjoyed being active in volunteering, particularly as an active member of the Assistance League of Tulsa, and as an active member of P.E.O. where she met many lifelong friends and partners in crime. She also enjoyed spending time with her faith-based friends in numerous Bible study classes.
Murlene is preceded in death by her parents, brother George Lynn Burruss, in-laws Paul Bartlett, Sr. and Mary Nunez Davidson, and brother-in-law Paul B. Davidson, Jr., all of Tulsa.
She is survived by her husband, daughters Dianna Wagner and husband James of Atlanta, Georgia, Pamela Davidson of Arlington, Virginia, her three grandchildren all of Atlanta, sister Mrs. Margie Thomas of Abilene, Texas, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and loyal friends.
A service celebrating the life of Murlene will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 12:30PM at Floral Haven Chapel, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Graveside service and reception to follow at Floral Haven.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Assistance League of Tulsa or PAM Health Systems of Tulsa. The family would also like to acknowledge the exceptional care Murlene received at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Tulsa and Saint Francis Hospital.
