I had the HONOR to sit and visit with this man everyday. He had so much knowledge to share. You just had to sit and listen. He was a proud submariner. Thank you Mr. G for your service your knowledge and your ever so kind smile and friendship. You will be missed by many.
I was blessed to have Georgia and Zeke as my mother and father-in-law. They always made me feel like I was much closer than a son-in-law. I always enjoyed Zeke's many stories about his military service. He personally took me through the Batfish on a couple of occasions, explaining so many fascinating things, and sharing stories about serving on a submarine. I enjoyed the times we spent together. I worked with Nick when he volunteered at the American Airlines maintenance base Red Cross blood drive. He was always very lively and a joy to be around. All of us that worked the blood drive looked forward to the days he would volunteer.
Nick who served aboard the USS Mackerel (SS-204) USS Loggerhead (SS-374) during WWII and was a member of the United States Submarine Veterans WWII. Along with other members was responsible for Muskogee, Oklahoma acquiring the USS Batfish (SS-310) which is in Muskogee War Memorial Park
