Nicholas David Johnson's Obituary
Nicholas David Johnson, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on August 8, 1950, Nick lived a life full of passion, dedication, and love for those around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Mary; his daughter Andrea Bays and her husband Kenneth; his bonus daughter Anne Manners; and his cherished fur baby, Poppy Dog Johnson. Nick also leaves behind his brothers Dennis Johnson and wife Terri, and Michael Johnson and wife Patty, along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever miss his warmth, humor and occasional sarcasm.
Nick was known for his love of sports—especially NASCAR, hockey, and football. For more than 30 years, he proudly held season tickets for the Tulsa Oilers hockey team, rarely missing a game. He shared this love with his bonus daughter Anne! He enjoyed auto racing especially NASCAR and even attended several races with Mary. In earlier days Nick enjoyed bow fishing and bow hunting, a skill he learned from his father, and shared with close friends.
A true craftsman at heart, Nick’s greatest hobby was working on cars. He had a talent for restoring classic vehicles and was admired for his impeccable paint jobs. His current project, a 1960 Impala SS Convertible, remains a testament to his passion and skill. When he wasn’t in the garage—affectionately named the “Garaj Mahal,” complete with a custom sign from Mary—Nick could be found tending to his yard, ensuring it was always perfectly manicured.
Nick was a proud American and honored his country through his service in the U.S. Army. He loved discussing politics and sharing his views, but above all, Nick’s greatest joy was his family. His love for them was unwavering and evident in everything he did.
Nick’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Tunnels to Towers, or other organizations serving Veterans or First Responders.
