Nina Fries' Obituary
Nina Parnell Fries, 84, of Jenks, Oklahoma passed away March 30, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born November 27, 1936 in Afton, Oklahoma to Roy and Lorene Long. She grew up in Tulsa, then moved to Jenks and became a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a lunch lady at Jenks Public Schools for 29 years and treated all the kids as her own. She was loved by everyone, never met a stranger and went out of her way to help others. Nina was known for her contagious smile and laugh, bragging about her kids and grandkids and always insisting on hugs from everyone. Her favorite things were shopping, eating out, playing games, and spending time with her family. She was a master of crossword puzzles. She always looked for the best in people and never had an unkind word to say.
She was preceded in death by her brother Billie Long, her son Phillip Mark Parnell, and husbands Gene Parnell and Bill Fries. She is survived by her son Clifford Parnell, her daughters Angela and husband Rich Warwick, Amy and husband Tim Ullrich, Jill and husband Michael Ramey and Ashley Parnell. Her grandchildren Phillip Cross, Chelsea Page, Jordan Broadhead, Chris Ramey, Taylor Broadhead, Dakota and husband Trey Hartman, Grant and wife Megan Kirkbride, Evan Oliver, Will Parnell, Ethan Ullrich, Aspen Ramey, Landon Ramey and her great grandson Cole David Kirkbride. Her honorary kids and grandkids include Vero, Mary, Allen, Drew, Eli, Shawn, Ricky and Jack. She will be truly missed from this earth, but heaven gains a wonderful new angel. She is gone, but will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Floral Haven Funeral home in Broken Arrow. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Floral Haven’s Funeral Home Chapel. We will gather for a celebration of her life immediately following the service at 10754 Masters Circle, Jenks Ok. #0728 to enter.
