Nita Purdom's Obituary
Nita Gail Purdom, 69, of Broken Arrow, passed away December 16, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born November 27, 1950 in Coweta, Oklahoma to John and Gladys Bowers. She enjoyed spending time with family. Nita loved to shop with her kids, grandkids and great granddaughter. She enjoyed taking trips with their best friends Jimmy and Debbie Greeson. She enjoyed gardening, birds, shooting squirrels and starlings because they would eat all her bird seed. Some would call her Annie Oakley. Nita loved spending time with her dogs. She especially loved bossing Johnny around. She loved holidays with Christmas being her favorite. She loved spoiling everyone with gifts. She also enjoyed going to Life Church and reading her bible.Nita was proceeded in death by her parents John and Gladys Bowers. Her brothers Joe, Jake, Sleepy, Dave and Sam. Her sister Doris Jean. She is survived by husband Johnny Purdom, marriage of 50 years. Daughters Tammy and husband Walter Franklin, Tina and husband Michael McChristian. Three grandchildren, Tailor Halbert and husband Ray, Kendall Franklin, Alyssa McChristian and great granddaughter Mila Halbert. Sisters Mary Lou Billings and Betty Adams. Brothers Cotton Bowers, Pug Bowers, Roy Bowers and Jack Bowers along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.A celebration of life will be 10:00am, Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Broken Arrow Indian United Methodist Church. Located at 20854 E 141st St S, Broken Arrow, OK with fellowship to follow. Please feel free to bring pictures, stories and thoughts to share in the celebration.
