Noah Ranson's Obituary
With deeply heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Noah Ranson, who left this world to run into the arms of our Lord. Noah now has a perfect body for eternity—a body that doesn’t need machines to help him breathe, a body that moves as it is supposed to. He can now talk and sing songs, oh, how he loved to sing songs! We are so grateful that he now has what he didn’t have here on earth.
Noah passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, at 5:00 AM, at the age of 9 years and 4 months, in our home, surrounded by Mommy, Daddy, his favorite cousin Titi, and many family members. He brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his kind heart, radiant smile, and boundless curiosity. Everybody loved Noah’s smile, and people would instantly fall in love with him. Noah’s light shined so bright and made the world a better place just by being in it. Though his time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts.
With the grace of God, we were able to give him a good life. Our goal was always to make his life fun, filled with adventures and experiences that we will cherish forever. His first two years were beautiful but uncertain because we didn’t know he had a terminal disease. Doctors were guessing for months until we finally received a diagnosis: a rare form of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This disease limits the body’s ability to use its muscles, requiring him to use a ventilator to breathe. It slowly made his body weaker and weaker, but after the diagnosis, we were determined to give Noah the best life possible, full of fun and adventures—and we did just that.
Our first big adventure was a weeklong Disney Cruise. Noah also went to Disney World twice, where he saw his favorite character, the real Lightning McQueen. Noah loved Christmas lights and Christmas songs, so we made sure to take him to see the lights every Christmas. He adored carousels and got to ride them wherever we could find one—his favorite was at the Tulsa Mall. Our life was dedicated to living for Noah. He went everywhere with us—restaurants, supermarkets, clothing stores—because we wanted to give him a normal life. We always had so much fun together.
Noah loved eating French fries and chocolate ice cream. Almost every time we left the house, he got one or the other. He adored race cars, robots, and Dora the Explorer, but his favorites were Mater and Lightning McQueen. A very special place in Noah’s life was The Little Light House, a school for children with special needs that teaches God’s Word. It was there that Noah made his first friends. We were blessed to spend about two years there, surrounded by people who loved Noah deeply and made him feel heard and cherished every day.
For months, we waited and prayed for a miracle. In the last few years of Noah’s life, God put it in our hearts that His miracle would be to heal Noah in Heaven.
Noah was the strongest and bravest soul we’ve ever known. He would smile even after crying and had a way of looking deeply into our eyes that made us feel just how much he loved us. We will miss those beautiful brown eyes for the rest of our lives. Noah taught us gentleness, patience, bravery, resilience, and unconditional love. He will forever be our hero and best friend. With his sassy personality, he could make us laugh with how demanding he was, wanting everything right away. If he didn’t get his way, he would scream and set off his heart monitor! But to us, he was always the most beautiful boy in the world.
Our best friend is now running, talking, and free from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This thought brings us peace and happiness, knowing he has his new, perfect body that can run, walk, and do everything on its own. Mommy and Daddy will miss him forever. We are heartbroken, but we find comfort and peace in knowing he is in the best place to be—Heaven.
Noah is lovingly survived by his mommy, Maria; daddy, Terry; his cousins, Mario Alejandro, and Titi; his uncle, Mario; his Aunt Juli; and many other family members and friends who loved him deeply. They will continue to honor his legacy by embracing life to its fullest, just as Noah inspired them to do.
