Nona Mae Neal's Obituary
Nona Mae Pollard Neal, 93, of Tulsa, OK died in Owasso surrounded by family on June 6, 2022. Born July 7, 1928 to James and Cora Pollard. Nona grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers H.S. where she attended shop class and invited her future husband to a Sadie Hawkins dance. She was a homemaker and worked for Enterprise School Photos. Nona loved to quilt, garden and go on missions with the local mission groups where she used what she learned in shop class. She was a longtime member of Sheridan Road Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK, later attending Memorial Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK, and Faith Baptist Church of Slick, OK.
Nona was preceded in death by Parents, James and Cora Pollard; siblings, Jimmy Pollard, Cora Ann “Annie” Brown, Edson Pollard; Husband, Bert Neal; daughter, Susan Neal; son-in-law, Clyde Buchanan.
Nona is survived by Nancy Buchanan Peavler and Charles Peavler, Sandra Morris, Mike and Cynthia Neal; grandchildren, Craig and Leah Buchanan, Tina Buchanan Roach and Terry Roach, Michael and Allison Morris, Megan Morris Robinson and Nicholas Robinson, Mattie Morris Melcher White and Joshua White, Erica Neal, Christian Neal, Alicia Neal, Barbara Peavler Harris and Cletus Harris, Heather Peavler Bryan and Richard Bryan, Charlien Peavler; great grandchildren, Lucy Morris, Clara Morris, Raynie Robinson, Wyatt Robinson, Elliott “Ace” Robinson, Christopher White, Maja Melcher, Mary Trujillo, Jessika Bryan, Danielle Bryan, Kevin Bryan, Bobby Bryan, Chad Richter, and Christopher Richter and friends of the family Jeremy, Crys, Braden and Liam Davis.
A funeral Service will be held at Floral Haven’s Chapel to celebrate Nona’s life on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 10am with internment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. She asked that we have a party and not to be sad.
