Nora Piccon Deitz August 13, 1952 ' December 12, 2010 Nora Piccon Deitz, resident of Broken Arrow, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010, after a nine year battle with ovarian cancer. Nora was born August 13th, 1952, in Guatemala City, Guatemala Central America to Hector (deceased) and Grace Piccon. She is survived by her husband of 24 yrs. John L. Deitz, son Brent and daughter Katy of the home in Broken Arrow; mother, Grace Piccon of Miami, FL; sister, Ileana Mcray & husband E. Ashley, of Gainesville, FL, Mother-In-Law, Ingrid Deitz and companion Addis Mitchell of LaVernia, TX, brother-in-law, George H. Deitz and wife Marisel of Collierville, TN; and cousin Diana Guisela Rodriguez and husband Juan of Miami, FL. Also family members of Virginia, California, Texas. Guatemala and Germany. Nora was a graduate of Lincoln West High School in Cleveland, OH. She was employed by Florida Power and Light and later served as a teacher's aide in Tulsa. Her greatest joy was working with the elementary Spanish program in the Broken Arrow School district. She not only taught children to speak Spanish but she also served as an interpreter for the Hispanic community. Nora was a lady who loved life. When she wasn't volunteering her time to drive friends to the doctor where she often translated and filled out paperwork for them she could be found reading, cooking and listening to good music. This special lady was surrounded by a loving family and cherished friends who supported her during happy times and difficult times. Nora will be remembered as a lady who fought valiantly, who lived life to its fullest and had a positive impact on the lives of everyone she met. Her Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 14, 2010, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM for the public.
