Nora M Jones' Obituary
Nora Mae Jones Nora Mae Watts Jones was born January 15, 1926 in Rogersville, MO to Alpha Ann Moxley Watts and Everett Jackson Watts. Nora passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011. Nora is survived by Clyde Jones, husband of 68 years and five children: Peggy Pitezel (Fred) of Catoosa, OK, Bonnie Beeman of Broken Arrow, OK, Donald Jones (Deborah) of Tulsa, OK, David Jones (Becky) of Catoosa, OK, Anita Peck (Martin Spies) of Lakeville, MN, 15 grand children, and 16 great-grandchildren. Nora was the second of five children. Sister: Mildred Watts Green (deceased), brothers: Clinton Watts, Catoosa, OK and Earl Watts, and sister: Nell Duncan, both of Springfield, MO. Moved to Tulsa, July 1956. Was a long time member of Eastwood Baptist Church. Retired from Watts & Green Glass Company in 1989 after 27 years of service. Nora was a great cook, known for her peanut brittle (her mother's recipe). When she was no longer able to make it herself, she taught her husband. The family compiled a cookbook dedicated to her. Nora was an active member of Green Country Bluegrass Association. She served as club secretary for many years as well as membership chairman. She published the monthly newsletter 'News & Notes'. She and Clyde enjoyed traveling in their motorhome attending bluegrass festivals in Missouri, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 9 AM to 9 PM. Services will be held Monday, October 10, 2011 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Chapel. In remembrance of Nora, those that wish, may make a contribution to Clarehouse, 7617 South Mingo Rd., Tulsa, OK 74133.
