Norma Louise Applegate's Obituary
Norma Louise Applegate was born May 29, 1944 in Ft. Worth and passed April 24, 2013 in Oklahoma City. She is survived by her children Mendy Applegate and Wendy Schroedter. She has one granddaughter: Cameron Bailey Schroedter. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Welker and family. Norma is loved by a large extended family including those in Texas, lifelong friends, co-workers, and her friends at church. She had two strokes in 2004 but through her grace and persistence, it wasn't going to stop her from enjoying life. She continued working at Transit part-time and retired this year with 22 years of service. For rehabilitation, mom started attending the Center for Physically Disabled in Tulsa. She took up painting and stained glass. She loved bringing smiles to others through her art work. She painted her yearly Christmas cards herself and her work was put on display for auction. She also loved painting her granddaughter's favorite characters. Mostly the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but it didn't matter... Mom will be missed for her smile, laughter, the joy she brought to others but most of all her determination. As requested, mom will be laid to rest next to her son, Russell Applegate
