Norma Gloe Jones, 81, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023, at her home in Kiefer/Mounds, Oklahoma. She was born on January 30, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to her loving parents, Frank Speer and Leota Bernice Ritter Speer. Norma was the beloved wife of Robert R. Jones, Sr., and her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Norma wore many hats, working as an accountant in various fields, including the trucking industry, fire protection, and the medical field. Her dedication and attention to detail made her a respected professional in each of these roles. Her career was marked by her unwavering commitment and passion for her work.
Beyond her professional life, Norma had a deep love for her family and enjoyed spending time with her dear friend, Cindy Martin. Together, they embarked on many adventures, from going to garage sales to catching the latest movies. They also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as floating down the river and savoring the beauty of nature. Norma was not only an adventure-seeker but also an exceptional cook, enchanting the taste buds of all who had the privilege of savoring her culinary creations.
Norma is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Jones of Kiefer/Mounds, Oklahoma, and her three beloved children: Brenda Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Linda Baker and her husband Stan of Atlanta, Georgia, and Robert Jones, Jr. of Kiefer, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Speer of North Carolina. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Tara, James, Reid, and Austin, as well as her nieces and nephews: Julie, Jenny, and Charlie. Norma's wide circle of friends and extended family will forever remember her warmth and affection.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Leota Speer, one of her cherished sons, her grandson Chance Hayes, and her sister-in-law, Mary Speer.
In accordance with her wishes, a private family service will be held to honor Norma's life and the legacy she leaves behind. She will forever be remembered as a woman of unwavering dedication, a beloved friend, a devoted wife and mother, and a culinary maestro. Norma Gloe Jones' presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will eternally reside in our hearts.
