Norma Jean Massey's Obituary
Norma Jean Kidd Massey, age 86, of Tulsa, died January 31, 2018.Jean was born February 28, 1931 in Alma, Arkansas, to James and Maud (Brown) Kidd.Jean, met the love of her life when her best friend Mary, introduced Jean to her older brother. Jean married Leonard Massey July 3, 1947 in Tulsa. Jean was a seamstress who helped run the family business Massey’s Trim Shop even after the death of her beloved husband. Jean was a kind, loving, and very giving woman who did everything should could to help someone in need. She enjoyed sewing dresses for her children, and costumes for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed entertaining everyone who came to her house no matter the hour, and always insisted they have something to eat and sit down and talk for a while.Jean was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Leonard, daughters Lenny and Anita; and by eight brothers and two sisters; and great-granddaughter Sabrina.Jean is survived by her two daughters, Veta McCoy and her husband Tom, and Candy Young and her husband Michael; son-in law Tim Lewis; five granddaughters Lisa Voth, Christina Meier, Alicia Srader, Canna Massey-Lewis, and Jordan Young; three grandsons Robert Massey, Ryan Meier, and Gavin Young; nine great-grandchildren Anthony, Sarah, Robert, Ryan, Jamila, Samara, Kyle, and Tyler; great-great grandson Levi; and great-great granddaughter Roselynn.Although Jean is no longer here walking the earth, her spirit will live on in the many hearts that she has touched over 87 years. She was always quick to laugh, easy to forgive, and always willing to lend a hand.Visitation will be 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 6th, Floral Haven Funeral Home.Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 7th, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
