In Loving Memory of Oak Lee Osborn
Oak Lee Osborn passed from this life on January 7, 2024, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with his family by his side. Oak was a bold force in this world and will be forever missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Oak was born on April 19, 1939, in Wichita, Kansas, to parents Floyd Nelson Osborn and Virginia Lee Throckmorton. Oak was the first of three boys: Floyd Nelson Osborn Jr. of Austin, Texas, and Throck Morton Osborn of Manchester, Missouri. He graduated from Wichita High School East in 1957 and did not return to the school until his 50th high school reunion to receive his diploma. Oak enlisted in the U.S. Army in November of 1961 and was stationed in Europe as a large vehicle driver.
On October 9, 1971, he married Iva Sue Cottom, and along with his son David Richard Osborn, they enjoyed 52 years of many adventures, from camping, boating, skiing, riding motorcycles, fishing, restoring and pulling tractors, and touring on his Model T Ford.
Oak is survived by his loving wife Sue, son David Osborn, along with his granddaughter Virginia Ann Ross, great-granddaughter Adison Renee Ross, and Harper Sophia Ross. brother Throck Morton Osborn and wife Claudine Ester Osborn, as well as many cherished relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
A public visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at Floral Haven Funeral Home: 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
Anyone wishing to send flowers may do so by ordering through our website or by calling Floral Designs by Floral Haven at (918) 459-1525. Any other florists may deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 2:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2024, in order for them to be set out and properly displayed for Oak's visitation.
A funeral service to honor the life of Oak will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, located at 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, with Pastor James Lacey officiating. Interment will follow at 11:15 AM, immediately after the conclusion of the chapel service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the Garden of The Last Supper.
