Butch was a special person and friend; we graduated in DHS class of 1964 after surviving all the happenings of grade school, junior high and senior high. We were the generation who departed for college or US military / Vietnam after high school; Butch always took the high road and did both furthering his education and serving his country. We were able to “catch up” at our recent DHS Class of 64 reunion; it was great to review his love of flying and many accomplishments; he was one who contributed so much and will be missed by many persons and beloved animals he helped to a better life. Rest in peace Butch for life well lived and a job well done!
He made two transports for me. He was a kind soul and was wonderful with the dogs. He was very patient with my Great Pyrenees rescues. They were quite a handful and he was very calm with them. Thanks to him being willing to transport many animals finally got their happily ever after. He will be greatly missed. Love and prayers to his family.
Butch was a life long friend from Golden Rule School to East Texas State University. There are so many memories, comic book reviews, double dates, model buidling, Dallas Cowboys, snakes in the dorm shower, his wedding to the love of his life, taking a defferent life path and then acrossing paths again. He will always be part of my memories, the good memories from a group of memories of a very small place in the world just shouth of the Red River of Texas know as the Cotton Mill with good memories of Butch, Larry Jones, Charles Rains many more who helped me on my life's path. Praying for the family. First met Butch in the 4th grade at Golden Rule School. Where we shared friendships with Micheal Hancock, Charles Rains, Carol Gladen Kinney and Bob Thomason. Cotton Mill Kids forever! Rest in peace Butch.
Butch was larger than life, and everything he stood for is dear to me as well! I first met him when I was transferring a couple of dogs from my car to his in Tulsa several years ago, but you didn’t have to meet Butch to know him. He will truly be missed by anyone whose life he touched, and now it’s up to the rest of us to step up and fill the void he left in the animal rescue world. Thank you for your service, Butch, and rest in peace.
Butch was a friend that I'd known for over 60 years. He had a great talent for making realistic model airplanes. His love for animals was incredible. My condolences to Pat and Nicole. He was a great guy.
We spent thousands of hours together on dog transports. Believe it or not we talked every minute except when we slept. We never had a cross word. I will cherish those memories forever. Butch was the most honorable, kind, intelligent men ever. He loved Pat and Nicole & I heard the sweetest stories.
He loved every dog and would win them over being so gentle and sweet talking. He and I definitely had kindred hearts.
Pat and Nicole there are no words to express my love for you or to mend your broken heart. It was truly a honor to know Butch. Butch was my HERO for his military service.
God bless your brokenheart's, Pat and Nicole. And God Bless Butch.
