Orlena Rose Berry's Obituary
Orlena Rose (Green) Berry, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2020. She was born June 15, 1933 in Lamb County, Texas near Lubbock to Otto J. Green and Gertrude Green. She came from a large family having four brothers and one sister. Orlena married her sweetheart Calvin Winn Berry on April 26, 1958 in Houston, Texas. Calvin, her husband of 53 years, preceded her in death. Calvin and Orlena started their family in Houston, Texas where they had two sons Dale and Ron before moving to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1964. While living in Corpus Christi they had another son Robert. In 1974, they moved to Mustang, Oklahoma.
After Calvin's death in 2011, Orlena continued to live in Mustang until 2018 when she moved to Owasso, Oklahoma to live near her son Dale.
Orlena was a dedicated homemaker who loved her children and grandchildren. She raised three sons Dale, Ron, and Robert.
She also had a substantial hand in raising six grandchildren. Orlena was a devout Christian and was a charter member of Mustang Assembly of God church (Now The Bridge). Orlena was a Oklahoma State Fair Champion baker and crafter. She also used her skills baking and crafting to help raise money for the church. Orlena was a huge Oklahoma Sooner and OKC Thunder fan.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Calvin. She is survived by three sons Dale and wife Kimberly Berry of Owasso, Oklahoma; Ron and wife Gena Berry of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Robert and wife Patricia Berry of Mustang, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren Tyler, Sarah, Ethan, Blake, Erika, and Jordan.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Cade Cemetery in Streetman, Texas.
