Orlin Wade Emmons' Obituary
Orlin Wade Emmons, was born November 4, 1920 in Shattuck, OK to Vernon Leroy Emmons and Etta Irene Platt. He passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the age of 96 at his home in Wagoner, OK.He is survived by a son, Orlin and his wife, Sandy, of Wagoner, and a daughter, Jeanne and her husband, Dale, of Tulsa, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other relatives. He also had many brothers and sisters in Christ as his friends.Wade grew up in the Canton, OK, area and was one of 5 brothers and sisters.Family was always important to Wade even during difficult times.Wade married Luella Lorenz on March 30th, 1945, in Fort Worth, TX, while Wade was in the Army Air Corps. Wade and Luella lived in Canton, OK, Tulsa, OK, and in Wagoner, OK.During his active Christian life, Wade was an electronics technician for more than 24 years at McDonnell Douglas and retired in 1985. Wade then became the school custodian for 20 years at Mingo Valley Christian School, becoming a surrogate grandfather and witnessing his Christian faith to the students. He was a mighty Christian prayer warrior always praying for the needs of his family and loved ones, especially for their salvation. He was always a caring and fun loving father/grandfather/great-grandfather.Wade was a long time member of Parkside Mennonite Brethren Church, and Sheridan Christian Center, in Tulsa. He also attended First Christian Church in Wagoner.Viewing will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and family will greet friends that evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow.Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mingo Valley Christian School.
