Patricia Collene Bear's Obituary
Patricia (Patty) C. Bear passed away Monday, July 31, 2017. Patty was born December 4, 1930 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Leo M. and Goldie Hocker McFadden. She attended Rogers High School.Patty worked for many years as a keypunch operator for Renberg’s Department Store. She loved trying new crafts and hobbies with her sisters. Patty was a founding member of a Bunco Club that existed for over 60 years. She was also an avid Tulsa Oilers Hockey Fan during the team’s time as a farm club for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Patty and husband Jim hosted many parties for the Oiler’s hockey team and traveled to Canada one summer to visit several players and coaches. After her retirement Patty was very active in the La Femmes (woman’s auxiliary of the American Legion) serving as Sous Pres for several years.Patty was preceded in death by her husband James (Jim) A. Bear; sisters Dorothy MacKenzie, Joan Stokes, Mary Munding, and brothers, Leo M. McFadden, Jr. and John McFadden. She is survived by her husband, Robert Watson; daughter Dr. Teresa M. Bear and her husband Rev. P. Alex Thornburg; son Rees A. Bear and daughter-in-law Bonnie L. Bear; and her beloved grandchildren Noah A. Thornburg, Emma J. C. Thornburg, and Joseph O. Bailey. Patty is also survived by many nieces and nephews.The Celebration of Patty’s life will be held October 6, 2017 at Floral Haven Chapel at 10:00 am followed by the interment of her ashes. Friends are invited to join the family for lunch at the Floral Haven Family Center following the services.Memorial contributions may be made to Porta Caeli House, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
