Patricia Ann Collins Chapman's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Patricia Ann Collins Chapman: Born on July 9, 1933 in Huntington, Arkansas where she lived until she married Clyde. Her parents Charles and Madge Perry McKown. She was the second of 10 children. She married Clyde Collins on July 24, 1948 in Oklahoma City. She and Clyde had 4 children; 2 daughters and 2 sons. Patti and Clyde were involved with Shriners and loved to travel. After Clyde passed away in 1981, she met and married Jerry Chapman in 1984. Patti continued her love of traveling with Jerry for many years, visiting Hawaii and Europe and also living in Natchez, MS and Lincoln, NE before retiring to Broken Arrow. Patti was a charter member of Southern Hills Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, and after converting to Catholicism with Jerry was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Broken Arrow. Patti was involved in Ladies Oriental Shrine. Patti was her own woman who had a deep love for family. Prior to having her own children, she helped raise her brothers and sisters. In her younger years, Patti modeled for department stores, before and after having 4 children. Patti was a beautiful woman who would not leave the house without makeup and her hair done. When her children were young, Patti was involved with the PTA and other organizations. Patti also loved to play bingo with Bunny, a life long friend. Later in life, she enjoyed late night shopping on QVC, being on a first name basis with the UPS delivery man, and often looking forward to “Christmas Everyday” when items she had forgotten about ordering would arrive. Patti is preceded in death by brothers Bud and Jimmy McKown; sisters Nancy Barnes, Meredith and Helen McKown; and husbands Clyde Collins and Jerry Chapman. She is survived by 2 of her brothers; Bill McKown of Mounds and Bob McKown of Fort Worth, TX. Patti is survived by her 4 children; Ron Collins of Springfield, MO; Catherine Booth of Oklahoma City; Sheryl Simmons of Broken Arrow; and Don Collins of Broken Arrow. Patti is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Marisa Ramsey, Jeff Booth, Jennifer Smith, Melinda Downs, Michelle Collins, and Taylor Simmons. Patti is survived by 12 greatgrandchildren: Jessica and Jordan Downs; Cade and Riley Collins; Eric, Lane, and Jake Ramsey; Josie and Jordan Booth; and Brooke, Chelsea, and Ava Smith. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 2 pm to 8 pm with family to greet from 5 pm to 8 pm. Services will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 3:00 pm.
