Patricia J. Gregston's Obituary
Memorial Service to be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday April 7, 2012 at the Asbury United Methodist Church Patricia Joanne Gregston was born in Goodland, Kansas on July 23, 1930, and passed away a few days ago on April 3, 2012. Growing up in the wheat fields of Kansas, 'Pat' met Dale Gregston, the man of her dreams and married in 1950. Leaving Kansas, they hop-scotched across the Texas landscape in search for black gold, having two sons, Bruce and Mark, along the way. Their daughter Lisa, arrived to the Gregston family during their 10 year visit to southern Louisiana. Settling in Tulsa during the late 60's, it is here that she called home, and quickly began a life of volunteer service to the local community. Pat served on the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary for 29 years, the Magic Empire Girl Scouts Council for 28 years, the Red Cross Auxiliary for 17 years, and the Assistance League of Tulsa for 11 years. She served as president of each at one time or another during her service to each organization. All during her years in Tulsa, she was involved in the Joy Class at Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa, where both her and Dale made many, many, friends for life. Their Tuesday night dinner groups were a treat. When Dale promised to 'take care of Pat, in sickness and health' 62 years ago, he never thought that he would be a shining example to all their family and friends what a fulfillment of commitment to one's mate truly looks like. Pat loved her husband and family dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Gladys Ginn; two sisters, Margie and Jeannie; and three dogs that were dear to her heart; Muffin, Trinkett, and Cara. Pat's passing leaves a hole in all of our hearts that can only be filled with wonderful memories. She leaves a grateful husband, Dale; three children, Bruce, Mark and Lisa; a brother, Bud, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, who are all grateful for her life, her love, and her dedication to us all. She will be greatly missed.
