Patricia Griffin's Obituary
Patricia Irene Griffin, 88 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, September 22, 2019 in a Tulsa hospital. She was born January 11, 1931 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to her parents, Shirley Hasel Pearce and Pearl Irene Goetz Pearce. Patricia married the love of her life, Raymond Griffin on November 5, 1948 and they shared in over 54 years together before his passing in 2002.Pat was a long time member of Woodlake Assembly of God Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pat spent a long career with the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association, beginning in the early 1950’s working in the business office and data processing departments in downtown Tulsa and afterwards the headquarters south of ORU. She transferred to City of Faith after its opening, acting as Administrative Hostess and retired when the hospital closed. She enjoyed travelling with her husband, family and friends after retirement. Also after retirement, Pat became involved with the St. Francis Women’s Auxiliary and served with them for some twenty years in various positions and areas making many lasting friendships. Pat also served the community for many years as a voting precinct worker in the Jenks area. Pat had a lifelong passion for sewing and quilting and her Sewing Circle of friends provided her much joy along with the Red Hats and her Bunko group. Declining health in recent years precluded these activities to her great dismay.Patricia is survived by two sons, Steve Griffin and his wife Kathy of Oologah, Oklahoma and Stan Griffin and his wife Terry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Donnie Hoppes and his wife Alvina of Mannford, Oklahoma and Derek Griffin and his wife Rosa of Mannford, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law Louanna Pieratt of Bristow, Oklahoma and Thelma Pearce of Phoenix, Arizona: step sister, Winnie Ferro of Clinton, Missouri; two step-grandchildren, Tamara Creekmore and her husband Chat of Drumright, Oklahoma and Toni Roberts of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Pearl Pearce; her husband, Raymond Griffin; one brother, Charles Pearce and one step-brother, Jerry McCray.Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Woodlake Church, 10444 S. Mingo Road, Bixby, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Light for the Lost c/o the church.
